Rubber flooring is a very easy flooring to maintain. Due to it’s composition rubber flooring is very tough and hardwearing, and cleaning regularly with a normal floor cleaning product will suit most rubber floors fine. However, if you want to help make your rubber flooring look and last longer you can use a kit of special cleaning components – such as the one available from this site.
All rubber flooring comes with a factory finish on it, to help protect it during transportation and fitting. Using a recommended stripping agent you can remover this factory finish from the floor, however this does leave it in a more vulnerable state. You can then apply a new polish to the floor which will help to give it a slight gloss and more uniformed finish. You should always apply two coats of the polish. One coat in one direction of the room, and the second coat at 45o angle to the first to ensure complete and even coverage. Once this polish is all dry you can then clean your formal at normal regular intervals using the cleaning solution. The polish should only need to be re applied every 6 months, after restriping the floor to remove any remaining polish from the floor.
